

James was born March 9, 1937 in Bellflower, California to Otto Webe and Nora Bell Feenstra. He was raised by his Step-mother Julia and Step-father Horace “Bud” Davis.
For those who knew him, you will remember the love he had for his Family, The Navy, Scouting and traveling. He was very proud to have served 31 years in the Navy Reserve. He was a great leader as a Scout Master for the boy Scouts for 16 years. He had worked at Martin Marietta in Torrance, CA for 33 years and then for Garwood Laboratories in Pico Rivera, CA for 16 years; He is preceded in death by his Father-Otto Webe Feenstra; his mother-Nora Bell (Kitchel) Adamson; Stepfather-Horace “Bud” Davis; Stepmother-Julia Temple; Brother-William Otto Feenstra; Sister-Norma Lee Hilton; First wife of 33 years-Cecilia “Sue”(Brown) Feenstra, and his second wife of 9 years-Cynthia (Haas) Feenstra.
He is survived by his daughter-Jamie Sue Feenstra; his son-James Lee Roy Feenstra Jr. and daughter-in-law Irma Feenstra; his son- Jeffrey Earl Feenstra and daughter-in-law Sandra Feenstra; his daughter-Julie Elizabeth Avalos and son-in-law Gilbert Avalos. He loved and adored his 5 granddaughters, 4 grandsons, 2 great granddaughters and 4 great grandsons.
A visitation for James will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lighthouse Memorials & Receptions, 5310 Torrance Blvd, Torrance, CA 90503. A funeral service will occur Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Green Hills Mortuary & Memorial Chapel, 27501 S Western Ave, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. A graveside service will occur Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Green Hills LA, 27501 S Western Ave, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. A reception will occur Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, 901 Torrance Blvd, Redondo Beach, CA 90277.
