Pierce, James Bertram, a 39 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2010 in Torrance. Born in Lakota ND, Jim was 75 when he died. He had served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Jim was a member of St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church in Redondo Beach. Jim is survived by his wife, Beverly Pierce of Torrance, CA; daughter, Catharine (Kevin) Hofer of Concord, CA; daughter, Deborah (Todd) Brown of Canton, MS; son, Steve (Debi) Pierce of Homewood, CA; sister, Barbara (Robert) Chavez of Littleton, CO; sister, Vonnie (Michael) Hughes of Omaha, NE; and 5 grandchildren: Rebecca Hofer, Ryan Hofer, Kyla Pierce, Joe Pierce, and Tessa Pierce. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bertram and Estelle Pierce; and sisters Dolores Pierce and Roberta Scofield.
The Memorial Service will be held at St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church in Redondo Beach on Wednesday February 10, 2010 at 10am. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
