Jayne C. Campbell of Palos Verdes Estates passed away at her home on May 30, 2005 at the age of 76 succumbing to cancer. She was born in Wisconsin, attended Marquette University, and resided in Palos Verdes since 1970. Jayne leaves behind her loving husband of fifty years, James S. Campbell, her four daughters Nancy, Barbara, Cindy, and Patti along with their husbands, her brother John Collins, and her ten grandchildren.
Jayne's kindness, compassion, generosity, and love were felt by all who knew her. For those who knew Jayne, she was a beacon of light in whose presence was felt an overpowering sense of goodness and decency. While Jayne was especially committed to helping all of those less fortunate than herself, involvement in good works aimed at helping children was her special passion. Jayne's associations with Las Madracitas, Women in Recovery, and World Vision were all important to her.
Jayne was an avid bridge player, loved to read, and enjoyed playing tennis, and golf. She traveled often to visit with and share her special quality of love with her many adoring grandchildren.
The great depth of her love, her commitment to the welfare of others, her selfless nature, and her kindness characterized Jayne's relationships with one and all. Jayne's presence in this world helped to brighten the days of all who were blessed to know her.
In keeping with Jayne's spirit, her family asks that donations in lieu of flowers be sent to the Trinity Care Hospice Foundation, "in memory of Jayne C. Campbell", at 2601 Airport Blvd. Suite 230 Torrance, CA 90505, or to your favorite charity.
A memorial service will be held to honor Jayne's memory at 10:00 a.m. on July 1, 2005 at St. Lawrence Martyr Church in Redondo Beach.
