John Paul Thomas

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Paul Thomas. John passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019 after a brief battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. John was 72 years old.

John Paul Thomas, known to his friends and family as "JT", was born In Gardena, California to Paul Bowen Thomas of Adair, Oklahoma, and Betty Jane O'Rourke (Thomas) of St. Paul, Minnesota. John graduated from Gardena High School in 1966.

In January 1966, John married Jill Gae Belcher (Kirby) of Torrance, California. They had one daughter together, Joell Gae Thomas (Sepulveda).

John was a talented musician and lifelong songwriter. His love for Music goes back to his early youth. He began his Music career starting up numerous bands throughout the sixties and seventies and Traveling across the country playing his music and sharing his passion with the ones he loved. His Music was his Life.

John Lived in Redondo Beach during the last 15 years. He enjoyed having Yard sales and selling Arts and Crafts with his longtime girlfriend Gabriele Cripe. They made many friends in their community and shared a home together.

John had a huge heart, and he always opened his home to those in need. John had a unique appreciation for the simple things in Life. John Loved His Family, his Music, and his Pets.

John is survived by his Daughter Joell Sepulveda (Adrian), Sister Susan Jayne Wolf (Don), Niece Michelle Figueroa (Walter), Great Niece Naina, Step Mother Mozelle Thomas, Stepsisters Sherry Wilcox and Cathy Robbins, Aunt Marilou Brown (Thomas), Cousin Joan McCarty, Girlfriend, Gabriele Cripe, and Lifelong friends Michael Brady of Moorpark, California and Mike Evans of Dallas, Texas.

John is preceded in death by his Father Paul Thomas, Mother Betty Jane, and Step Father Ernest Haahr.

Dear Dad,

I know that no matter what, you will always be with me. When life separated us I know it is only your soul saying goodbye to your body, but your spirit will be with me always. I love you, Your Daughter Joell.
