Jon Canape Onde

Jon was born in Davao, Philippines to Lourdes Canape and Candido Onde, Sr. He immigrated to Saudi Arabia in 1989, and later lived in Dubai, U.A.E from 1995 to 2002, where he and his wife, Marilyn, immigrated to the U.S.A. and settled in the Los Angeles South Bay area. Jon studied to become a nursing assistant where he had a career as a Physical Therapy Aide until becoming a commercial truck driver in May 2005. Jon enjoyed the latest electronics, including flying his drone. He loved to document the scenic places he’d visit on his long drives by creating content for his friends and family to enjoy watching. When not driving, Jon especially loved to fish.

Jon is preceded in death by his father, Candido Onde, Sr.; siblings, Gener, Gloria, Elsa, Loida, and Edwin; infant son, Jon.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Vitug Onde; children, Loribelle, Heidi, Ronnel (Jesafer), Mark Reagan, Ronald Ferdi, and Drina (Rudy); grandchildren, Aiden, Keanu, Annalisa, Niña, and Zak; mother, Lourdes Canape Onde; siblings, Raul, Ferdinand, Gendofer, Johnny, Jojo, Nervin, Helen, Edna, and Gerry.

A visitation for Jon will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 pm at Lighthouse Memorial & Receptions Rice Center, 5310 Torrance Blvd. Torrance, CA 90503. A service will occur on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Lighthouse Memorial & Receptions Rice Center, 5310 Torrance Blvd. Torrance, CA 90503, with a reception to follow.
