Julie Cathleen Laxton

Julie is survived by Richard Laxton and his wife Susan of Fresno, CA; Dr. Robert Laxton and his wife Janet of Torrance, CA; nephew Scott Laxton and niece Teresa Parra of Fresno, CA. Julie grew up in the Hollywood Riviera section of Torrance, CA. She attended Riviera Elementary School, South Torrance High School, and Marymount College, earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, California State University, Dominguez Hills. Julie was affiliated with the Girl Scouts of America, Resurrection Lutheran Church, South High School Band, and Torrance Area Youth Bands.

Over several decades, she worked with hotel management companies, Radisson and Hyatt Regency and entertainment companies, the Discovery Channel, Wherehouse Entertainment and Sony Pictures. Julie retired from the Raytheon Corporation in 2015. She enjoyed international travel, visiting destinations in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the Mediterranean, and Russia shortly after the fall of the Soviet Union. Julie will be missed by her family. A memorial service will be held at Valley Memorial Park, Novato, CA at a future date.
