Laura Blausey Edwin

Laura Blausey Edwin passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2001. She was born October 25, 1912 in San Pedro and lived in Redondo Beach 75 years. She attended the Redondo schools and graduated from Redondo Union High School in 1930. She married the late Perry Edwin in 1931. Laura dedicated many years as a volunteer for South Bay Hospital, Salvation Army Meals-on-Wheels, American Red Cross and was a past president of the South Bay Community Concerts Association. She received many community awards including the Redondo Beach Woman of the Year, YMCA Good Neighbor of the Year, Salvation Army ''Others'' award and the YWCA Woman of the Year. She was also a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Redondo Beach , the Carnation Chapter of the Eastern Star and the Evening Division of the Redondo Beach Woman's Club. She is survived by Daughters, Lois (Jerry) Pemberton and Norma (Ron) Day; Grandson, John (Claudia) Day; Granddaughters, Laurie (Bruce) McCown, Mindy (John) Kirk, and Annette (Scott) Godfrey; Also survived by 10 Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, April 8, 2001, at the White & Day Colonial Mortuary in Redondo Beach from Noon unitl 3:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday at the First United Methodist Church in Redondo Beach. Private entombment will be at Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach.
