Lore Shotwell

Lore became a U.S. citizen early in life, and was a Registered Nurse. She was employed at several VA hospitals, including Omaha and San Francisco, and later became head nurse at South Bay Hospital. Later she was head of ICU/CCU at another local hospital, then worked for the Red Cross, capping a 27 year career.

Lore has been involved in raising African Violets and other indoor plants. She has been interested in music, was a skilled ballroom dancer, a voracious reader, and has enjoyed blackjack in Las Vegas whenever possible. She was a very smart lady.

Lore is survived by her son, Gordon Shotwell of Hawthorne, CA; grandson, Justin Shotwell-Samuels of Orlando, FL; and best friend and long-time love David Williams of Hawthorne, CA. She leaves sisters Arlene Thibodeau of Westminster, CA; and Gertrude Freese of Denison, IA as well as countless cousins, nieces, and nephews, here and in Germany. She is loved by all, and may God comfort her and the rest of us.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Karl Reichert.

The Funeral Service will be held in the Pacific Crest Cemetery Chapel in Redondo Beach on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow.
