
Born January 8, 1931 in Ranger, Texas, Bud joined the military in 1945 and served in both the Navy then the Army in post-World War II Japan and Germany.
Following his military service, Bud launched a 35-year computer specialist career at Hughes Aircraft in El Segundo, California, and worked there until his retirement in 1989.
Bud was a devoted father and was very active in is children's sports, art and various other endeavors. He enjoyed fishing, camping, pool, bowling, playing cards and throwing back a few with his lodge brothers and sisters at the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Elks lodges, the VFW, the American Legion and the Lyons Club.
Bud was known for his quiet yet friendly demeanor, his generosity and helpfulness. It was impossible not to like him.
He is survived by his wife Genevieve, son Phillip Browning, son Paul Browning and daughter Pam Browning, as well as his son-in-law Eddie Kuntz, sister Joy Lemieux, grandchildren Amanda, Malory and Mathew, great-grandchildren Morgan and Jake, and many nieces and nephews.
Bud is preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy Browning, father Henry, mother Jessie and siblings Terry, Marcille and Herman.
A public viewing (closed casket) will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 3 at Rice Mortuary, 5310 Torrance Blvd, Torrance, Ca. 90503. Following the viewing, further celebration of Bud's life will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Eagles Lodge at 128 S. Catalina Ave. in Redondo Beach.
