
Aaron, Martin (Marty) Lawrence, a 44 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2007 in Torrance. Born in Alpena, SD, Martin was 87 when he died. Martin was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II in Europe. Martin was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church, was a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, and was a member of the Elks Lodge. For 37 years, Martin was employed with McDonnell Aircraft Corporation as a Procurement Manager. He was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoyed golf and bowling. In addition, he enjoyed traveling and dancing.
Martin was a loving and caring father. He found great joy and pleasure with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In his later years, he generously shared what he had with family, friends, and charitable organizations. He loved to reminisce about the good old days, sharing stories and jokes with his family and friends. Martin will be greatly missed by his family.
He is survived by his Daughter, Beverly (William) Messinger of Bridgeton, MO; Son, Martin F. (Kathryn) Aaron of Sunset, UT; Daughter, Mary (Guy) Ankeny of Simi Valley, CA; Son, Kevin (Christine) Aaron of Torrance, CA; 10 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; companion, Phyllis Reardon. His Mother, Anna Aaron; Father, Martin Aaron; wife of 42 years, Elna; and second wife of 8 years, Patricia, preceded him in death.
A gathering of family & friends will be held at Rice Mortuary in Torrance on Thursday January 3, 2008 from 4 to 8pm with a Vigil at 7pm. The Service will be held at St. John Fisher Catholic Church in Rancho Palos Verdes on Friday January 4 at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, or Christian Relief Services Charities (indianyouth.org).
