

Wilson, Mary Ann, a 60 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Wednesday December 17, 2014. Born in Graceville, Minnesota, Mary Ann was 81 when she died. She was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church of Torrance. She graduated high school at St. Mary's Academy, Graceville, MN.
Mary Ann began her career as a telephone operator at Pacific Bell in Glendale. She quit work to raise her family until her children were all in school. She went to work and retired from Northrop Grumman Corporation in 1994 after 26 years of service, working under many titles: telephone operator, telex operator and billing coordinator.
She was THE #1 Laker fan; loved attending her grandkids' sporting events; loved travel, the theatre, her weekly bible study group and the church Senior Citizen group; created her own greeting cards; and was an avid pinochle and cribbage player.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 59 years, John William Wilson; daughters, Kathy (Mike) Brinda and Donna Wilson; sons John Jr. (Myra) and Jim (Cynthia); her brothers, Mike (Lynn) and Sylvester (Pat) Fischer, and sisters, Veronica (Roy) Kuehn and Louise Maher; five grandchildren: Mark, Erika, David, Matthew and Emily; great granddaughter, Mia, and another great granddaughter, Dakota, due in February.
Vigil will be held at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church on Tuesday January 6, 2015 at 7pm. Mass will be the next day at noon, followed by a reception in the Church Hall. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
