She was born in Ashbourne, County Meath, Ireland on April 23, 1936 to John and Jane Morgan (Gorman). She was the eldest of six children: four brothers and a sister. Maureen immigrated to the United States alone at age 24 to work as an au pair. She corresponded with her future husband, Thomas, for over a year before he also came from Ireland to join her in Los Angeles, California where they soon wed and remained married for 39 years until his passing in 2000.
Maureen lived a full and active life. Her faith was of the utmost importance to her. Her life’s joys included close family ties, a gratifying work experience at Little Company of Mary Hospital for 25 years followed by 14 years of volunteer service there, and the eventual development of an interest in golf at age 67 that was deeply gratifying, both in exercise and friendships.
Maureen is survived by her four children: Siobhan Griffin (James), Kathleen Fogo (Anthony), Brendan, Patrick (Marissa); eleven adoring grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by two siblings, Nell and Colm, as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
