Miguel Angel Montalván Rueda, son of Miguel Montalván Sr. and Delfina Rueda, born in Managua, Nicaragua, July 6, 1940, a 30-year resident of Torrance and age 76, while surrounded by an intimate group of family members, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, he quietly passed away October 20, 2016 at around 5:40 PM in Torrance, California.
He was united in holy matrimony to Nilda Thelma Cardoza Averruz in November, 1967, and this union was blessed with two children. He led a life dedicated to his wife, his children and hard work. He loved traveling, especially to Nicaragua, and while he was younger, he also enjoyed riding motorcycles around town. Later in life, as he got older, he also loved riding his bicycle and discovering new places. Some of his hobbies included coin collection, miniature vehicles collection, and spending time reading books and magazines at Barnes and Noble, while enjoying hot chocolate or a fresh cup of coffee. He loved reading, lots of reading.
His beautiful life will forever be cherished and will continue to go on in the lives of his two children: Miguel Montalván, Jr. and Nilda Kerr, in his three sweet grandchildren, Shane, Karina and Liliana, his loyal wife of almost 49 years, Nilda Montalván, his younger sister Rosa Argentina Aguilar Rueda who flew in from Florida to be with him on his last days, plus other brothers and sisters he left behind, and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends spread throughout the U.S. and Nicaragua.
Miguel was truly a caring, loving and responsible father, son, husband and brother. We will forever carry you in our hearts and in our memories, and even though you left a hole in our hearts, and you will be missed by everyone you left behind, we are all comforted and we rejoice in the promise from God that we will once again be reunited and enjoy your presence and share your company with Jesus Christ Our Savior, in the Everlasting Life.
The family also wishes to extend our most sincere thanks to all his doctors, nurses, nursing home care professionals, paramedics, medical transports, etc., that were involved in Miguel's medical care at one point or another.
We would like to also thank the various churches, brothers and sisters in Christ, including Juan Carranza and Elda Garcia and their congregation, who visited Miguel often, and prayed for him, and another local church, plus Christian congregations in Florida and Nicaragua. Special thanks also to his kind boss of 15 years, Joey Santoro and co-workers, and close friends such as Mr. Bonilla and his beautiful family in Kansas, Rafael, Juan, Raul and Consuelo who flew in from Florida, Chilo who flew in from Nicaragua to be with him on his last days, the Cadenas and Meza family, and many more.
Thanks also to all our family for all your prayers and support, including Rosa Argentina, his nephew Hugo, Indira, Carlos, Delfina in Miami, Lesbia and Norma in Nicaragua, Jazmina, Manfredo, Juli, Ricardo, Aleyda, Saul, Maria Eugenia, Claudia, Rosalpina, Thelma, Chepe, Auralina, Ernestina, Loyda, Augusto, Nydia, Luisa Noemi, Selenia, Amilcar, Roberto, Rosita, Carlos, Luisito, Ligia, Hilda, Victor, Marlene, Dean, Trixy, Bobby, Wendy and Tommaso, Mayra in Florida, Edgard, Frank and Johanna in Nicaragua, and many, many more.
