Gesquiere, Norbert Marcel, a 65 year resident of Manhattan Beach, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2010 in Torrance. Born in Allen, Indiana, Norbert was 75 when he died. Norbert was a member of Elks Lodge #1378, PER. He enjoyed woodworking, reading, and was a fan of the Detroit teams: the Tigers, RedWings, and the Lions.
Norbert is survived by his wife, Mary Gesquiere of Manhattan Beach, CA; son, Mark Gesquiere of Tucson; daughter Suzanne Kordich of Idaho; stepson Joe Reed of Dallas; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother Robert of Bay City, MI; sister Goldie of Warren, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Suzanne Gesquiere; and his first wife Betty Jo.
A gathering of family & friends will be held at White & Day Mortuary Chapel in Manhattan Beach on Monday February 1, 2010 from 4 to 6pm. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City January 2 at 11am, followed by a Reception at the Redondo Beach Elk's Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ENF Elks Lodge #1378 for local scholarships.
