A man with a true heart of gold, Paul knew no enemies and was the ultimate friend. His unconditional love towards others and his generosity had no boundaries. Paul lived his days to the fullest in every sense of the word and filled them bringing warmth and joy to those around him. His unparalleled sense of humor and quick wit left those he spoke to with a greater appreciation for life. His presence was truly a gift.
Paul was born to Robert and Joyce Grice along with his identical twin brother, Graham, on October 3, 1951 in London, England. He enjoyed a childhood and adolescence with his brother and younger sister, Vivienne, filled with mischief and rugby. Fate changed Paul's course when he met his soul mate, Dianne, in a chance encounter during a stateside visit at Beach Bum Burt's in 1978. He trekked across "The Pond" in order to make things official on April 12, 1980, and established Redondo Beach, Calif. as his new home. Together they spent 27 happy years in matrimony in the South Bay community, and raised their two daughters, Brittany and Nikki.
Educated at Selhurst Grammar School and Croydon College, Paul graduated with a degree in Computer Science. His immense charisma and charm, along with his work ethic carried him far professionally. After spending over 30 years in the computer software business, Paul joined the fledging firm of Project Partners as a principal, helping to propel the company to become a leader in its field today. Paul was also an active member in the Masonic community since 1989, serving as Master of the Redondo Beach Lodge for 3 years during that period.
In his spare time, you could often find Paul grilling the world's best burger or making his five cheese sauce from scratch for his famous macaroni, golfing, cruising in his '64 Valiant (with the top down), poker nights or grabbing a drink with his friends at his local watering hole, the Hermosa Saloon. His favorites included W.E.B. Griffin and military novels, Big Dog gear, the foie gras at Chez, and his 130-lb (and counting) American Bulldog, Spike.
Private memorial services will be held on July 11. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested charitable donations be made in Paul's name to Cheer for Children, PMB 280, P.O. Box 7000, Redondo Beach, CA 90277.
Cheers to you, Paul. You'll be forever loved and missed.
