Paul Katsumata passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 30, 2007 at his home in Hawthorne. Paul was a devoted son, brother, husband, uncle, and brother-in-law. Born in Los Angeles as the first of two boys, Paul grew up in Gardena, and later moved to Hawthorne. Paul had to experience things for himself to figure them out. As such, he worked as a mechanic, plumber, sewer worker, street maintenance worker, and operating room technician. He had many interests, including his 1997 Ducati Monster 750, 1985 Chevy El Camino, his collection of watches, and all things Italian.
Paul is survived by his wife, Marlowe Katsumata; his parents Yasuo and Kyoko Katsumata; his brother, Peter (wife Mandi) Katsumata; and his three nephews, Jake, Kyle, and Joey Katsumata.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 10:00 am at Rice Mortuary located at 5310 Torrance Blvd, Torrance, CA 90503. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MADD or City of Hope.
