Paul Peter Sullivan

Paul P. Sullivan, a 49 year resident of Torrance, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2012. Born in Boston, MA, he was 81 when he died. Paul retired from General Telephone in Redondo Beach after 29 years and then spent over 10 years with the South Bay Lexus auto group. Paul was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Church. He was a great husband, father and grandfather to us all. His love for our mother will never be forgotten. We will always remember his Irish humor and his willingness to help anyone. His hammer has been silenced, but our memories of everything he did to help each of us build wonderful families will always be with us. He enjoyed traveling and visiting with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Many Laughlin and Palm Desert Casino's will miss Dad's contributions. He also enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams: the New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, and the LA Lakers. Paul is survived by wife, Mary (Gerry) of Torrance, CA; son Steven Sullivan of Concord, CA; daughter Maureen (Jon) La Tendresse of Camas, WA; daughter Kathy Sullivan of Midvale, Utah; daughter Eileen (Kevin) Rockey of Torrance, CA; son Brian (Melanie) Sullivan of La Mirada, CA; grandchildren Tim Sullivan, Kristin Hermanny, Shannon La Tendresse, Brandon Sullivan, Tyler Sullivan, Chad Sullivan, Kyle Sullivan, Derrick Rockey and Matthew Rockey; 4 great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Patsy and parents William and Louise Sullivan. Mass will be held at St. Catherine Laboure Church, Torrance, on Friday February 17, 2012 at 1:00 pm. with a reception immediately following. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association.
