Robert S. Simpson

Simpson, Robert S. a 48 year resident of Torrance , passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 in Torrance. Born in Johnstown, PA, Robert was 77 when he died. He served in the Navy during Korea and was a member of Calvary Chapel South Bay.

He started out as an elementary school teacher in the Lynnwood Unified School District and retired June 22, 1999 as a Principle after 31 years of service.

His favorite pastime was watching sports on TV with Penn State football and UCLA basketball his favorites.

After retirement he became a greater follower of Nutrition in reading and trying to keep himself healthy.

He is survived by Son, Son Rick(Colleen) and Grandchild Rick, Jr. of Gardena, CA, Son, Rodney (Sharon) and Grandchildren Chrissy and Susie of Torrance, CA, Sister, Pat (Ray) Gerber of Johnstown, PA, Brother, Charles (Louise) Simpson of Anaheim, CA and six Great Children. Preceded in death by his sister Phyllis (Bowers) and his wife (Mary Lou). A gathering of family & friends will be held at Rice Mortuary Chapel on Friday, March 14, 2008 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The Service will also be held at Rice Mortuary on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. A reception will follow in Rice's Lighthouse Reception Room from 1:00 P.M. until 3:30 P.M. Burial will follow at Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach. In lieu of flowers a Memorial Donation may be sent to Calvary Chapel South Bay, 19300 S. Vermont Ave., Gardena, CA 90248
