
Robert Brown Stringer, 77, of Torrance passed away on March 20th, 2006. He is survived by Helen Stringer, his loving wife of 36 years, his daughter Susan Hall of San Clemente, a grandson Daniel Hall of San Clemente, his stepdaughters, Linda Hutchison of La Jolla and Barbara Seeley of Hermosa Beach, step grandchildren Dana Seeley, David Seeley, Raul Rathmann, Lynn Pepe and Erik Rathmann, and three step great grandchildren.
Robert (Bob) was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 18, 1928. After serving two years in the Navy, he attended Case Western Reserve University where he earned a Master's Degree in engineering.
In 1958 he moved to Southern California where he worked for Hughes Aircraft until his retirement in 1983. Bob's passion for many years was sailing and he participated in many races when he was a member of the King Harbor Yacht Club. He was an avid photographer with his own darkroom until he became more fascinated with the computer and turned his ever active mind to the skills of computing.
A memorial service celebrating Bob's life will be held on Saturday, March 25th at 3:30 P.M. at McCormick Redondo Beach Chapel, 1998 S. Pacific Coast Hwy, with a reception to follow at the Stringer residence. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
