Sister Dennis Mary McFadden ,C.S.J., age 94, passed away on Wednesday September 8, 2021 at St. John of God Retirement Center in Los Angeles, CA. Born November 3, 1926 in Oakland, CA, was a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet since August 15, 1947.
Sister Dennis Mary Dennis Mary ministered in education for 64 years, started teaching in Idaho and ended at St Monica’s High School, being the Principal at St. Eugene’s and St. Mary’s Academy in Inglewood in between. As an Administrator she was greatly respected for her dedication and talent. She was a team player. She was an avid reader and loved teaching Social Studies and made history come alive for the students.
Sister Dennis Mary had a great love for language and was astute at proofreading, often offering to help others with that need. Her quick humor and Irish wit were evident in any gathering.
She is survived by her nephew Ken Mally, nieces Nancy Bawden- Flynn and Bridget Arroyo.
