Sr. Patricia Joyce Crother, CSJ

Sister Pat was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, the oldest of four children. Her family was not affiliated with any religion. When Pat was eleven years old she and her siblings were baptized into the Catholic faith through the influence of the Marianist Brothers.

On February 1, 1947 she entered the Sisters of the Precious Blood in Dayton, Ohio, and remained with them for 34 years. Her ministry with them was in education and school administration. While remaining close to that community, Pat transferred to the Sisters of St Joseph in 1981.

Those who knew Pat found her to be an interesting conversationalist. She had a rich intellect and an affectionate, sympathetic heart. She required peace and quiet in large doses.

Pat lived the charism of unity and reconciliation and always sought to bring gentleness, peace and joy to a wounded world.

She is survived by her brother Carl and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
