
Wayne Edward Alldredge, a 53-year resident of Lawndale, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011 in Torrance. Born in Evansville, Indiana, Wayne was 83 when he died due to complications from heart surgery. Wayne had served in the Navy during WWII. Wayne was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church of Torrance, from 1958 to the time of his death. Wayne was an avid fisherman who spent many days fishing at a myriad of lakes and rivers in California. He also spent much of his time surfing at his favorite surf spots; the Palos Verdes Cove, and San Onofre State Beach. Wayne was the fixer in the family repairing everything imaginable from lawnmowers to cars, boats and everything in between. He will be forever missed in the hearts of all who knew him, and his life has provided a perfect example of unconditional love and acceptance. Wayne is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lillian Alldredge of Lawndale, CA; son, Michael Alldredge of Peoria, AZ; daughter, Mary Loether of San Pedro, CA; daughter Teresa O’Connell of Trabuco Canyon, CA; son, David Alldredge of Laguna Niguel, CA; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earle and Mary Alldredge; and daughter Linda Fraterman. A gathering of family & friends will be held at Rice Mortuary in Torrance on Thursday, June 23, 2011, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with the Rosary service at 7:15pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church in Torrance on Friday, June 24, 2011 at 10:00am. Burial will be private.
