Wayne has gone to be with his sweetheart Dorothy, but his generosity, loving spirit (especially toward children), and sense of humor will be remembered and greatly missed by his friends and family.
His life of service to others included the Optimists Club where he excelled at fund raising to buy musical instruments for children’s school band programs, school scholarships, and police dogs for the K-9 unit of Hawthorne P.D.
As an active volunteer in the Boy Scouts he worked at both the unit and district levels serving in many positions including district commissioner and scoutmaster. His training and encouragement helped many boys achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.
His service also extended to his membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in the bishopric of the Lawndale Ward.
Wayne joined the U.S. Navy during World War II. His assignment was to the Pacific theatre serving in the medical corps.
He spent 39 years working for CBS Television as an electrician. During that time he was involved with many popular television productions of the 1950’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy (Fullmer) and daughter Paula.
He is survived by a daughter, Constance (Randall) Morgan, sons Wayne (Merryn) and Thomas (Fredricka), sisters Billejean Vasey and Maxine Robinson, 14 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Sat. Jan. 20, 11:00 a.m. (viewing at 10:00 a.m.) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 14801 Osage Ave, Lawndale CA 90260.
