W.D. (Bill) Baumann, 78, a lifelong resident of Southern California and a twelve-year resident of Rolling Hills Estates, was born August 18, 1929 and passed away peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2008 after a lengthy illness. Bill was a kind and beautiful man, beloved by his family and his many friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth, of Rolling Hills Estates, CA; brother Roland (Michaelene) Baumann of Sun Lakes, AZ; sister Karen (Richard) Smarsty of Sun Lakes, AZ; son Brent Baumann of Agoura, CA; daughters Dana (Rodney) Mitchell of Surprise, AZ and Dawn Porkka of Colorado Springs, CO; step-sons Ronald (Carmen) Hansen of Gardena, CA and Steven Hansen of Rolling Hills Estates, CA; nephews Mark Baumann, Eric Baumann, and Wesley Hussey; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Bill's life will be held at Rice Mortuary 5310 Torrance Blvd in Torrance on Saturday May 10, 2008 at 11am. Burial will be private.
