Poltash, Wolfgang Joseph a 57 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2010 in Redondo Beach. Born in Furstenfeldbruck, Germany, Wolfgang was 59 when he died. Wolfgang was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hawthorne.
Wolfgang (Wolfie) graduated from Hawthorne High in 1969 and attended El Camino College. His passion for travel soared when he was hired by Luftahansa German Airlines in 1976 as a Cargo Agent. He retired from Lufthansa in 2004 and continued to work for Swissport until his death. Wolfie has been a member of two vintage aircraft operators in Europe and enjoyed countless trips accross the Atlantic. He was an avid reader and enjoyed mysteries and tales of Old Europe.
Wolfgang is survived by his father, Joseph Poltash of Hawthorne, CA; and his brother, Roland Poltash of Chicago, IL. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ingeborg Poltash.
A gathering of family & friends will be held at Rice Mortuary in Torrance on Wednesday March 24 from 4 to 7pm. Services will be private.
