Yolande Therese Dowling, a 60 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013 in Torrance. Born in Lewiston, Maine, Yolande was 85 when she died. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America for more than 25 years. Bingo and crocheting were her favorite activities and she also loved spending time with her family and friends. Her warm smile, kind and giving personality and sense of humor will truly be missed by all. Yolande is survived by her daughter, Muriel Schonbachler; son, Bruce Dowling; two grandchildren Christine and Katie, four great grandchildren Ben, Ariel, Stephen and Daniel, and one great-great grandchild Melody. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Oliva Lachance; and her husband of 60 years, James Dowling who passed away in September 2012. Memorial Services will be held at St. James Church, 415 Vincent Street in Redondo Beach on April 16th at 10:00 a.m. A reception will take place at the Dowling family home in Torrance following services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society or American Heart Assoc.
