We will miss her 100 mile an hour personality, kindness and unmistakable cackle. She was a good friend to our family for many, many years. Rest in peace Jean Ann.

Oh, how many years ago I knew Jean Ann Donley and family.  I was a little girl across the street (Wadsworth) and I loved going to her (their) house and playing.  Jean Ann was always so busy with children, business and running to her parents on East Bay.  I can see her gathering the kids, getting them into the Jeep along with me, Mary Richter, to head out.  I played with Pam and enjoyed Michael and Tommy John as he was called then.  My mother, Jo Richter was so fond of Jean Ann.  Somewhere along the growing up path, I lost touch and have been out of T.C. for 50 years but still visit and feel Traverse City is my home.  I have other fond memories of Jean Ann and family, but the above is fresh in my memory.  My condolences to you, the family, and I will always keep you in my heart.  Mary Richter Scibana

What can you say about Jean Ann. She was a little whirlwind and always fun to run into her and her side kick Tom doing their errands around town. Those two always made me smile. The world will miss her but heaven has gained quite a handful.  Barbara Bierlein (TC)

I'm so sorry to hear that Jean Ann has passed.  My heart and prayers go out to all family members and friends.  I met Jean Ann and her husband Tom in 2005.  I am a member of the "down-state Donley's"  My mother was Mary Ann Donley of the "down-state" Donley's.
Decades ago, the down state Donley's lost track of the Traverse City Donley's.  I did some digging and wrote to Jean Ann.  She confirmed the family ties.  We were both so joyous to have found each other.  My Uncle Larry Donley and I arranged to travel to Traverse City and meet our long lost Donley's in 2005.  It was an amazing trip.  Tom Donley shared years of history and memories with us.  Jean Ann was the keeper of more specific family history; names dates, etc.  
I hope to maintain contact with the younger generation of my Traverse City Donley relatives.  I have done some work recently on our family tree, to update for your Donley's and McMurray's, Gorenflo's, Zoulek's and Boughey's. Jean was my favorite volunteer.  She brought folders over to the xray department in the Professional Building in the pre-computer days, and was always a bright spot in any day.  She was so cheerful, upbeat, and helpful!  I missed her a lot when she no longer visited us!

Jean was a beautiful person. I met her at Munson Hospital ,I was at the hospital a lot,she was always there to greet me. Jean made going to the hospital fun. She will be missed by everyone whoever got to meet her.  She will be missed by all. She will be hard to replace.

Jean always brought a smile to my face. I remember her kindness and generosity as I have known her has a hospital volunteer for more than 30 years. She also had a great sense of humor. Jean remains very much alive in my memories.

I fondly remember Jean Ann. We were cheerleaders together and dear friends all throughout High School. We had dinners at each others houses, did homework together and she taught me how to do fractions, and were always hanging out together as young girls. Many happy memories.
