

Born September 15, 1923, in Ann Arbor, she was the daughter of Sid and Mary (Degarie) Johnson. She married Elmer "Jeff" Davis who preceded her in death in March of 1944. She married Thomas E. Donley on October 7, 1946 at Holy Angels Chapel in Traverse City. He preceded her in death on December 16, 2007.
Jean Ann is survived by her children, Pamela Davis Weber (John Lannin), Michael T. Donley, Thomas J. Donley (Marsha Krider), Mary Sue (Geff) Heidbrink and Jean E. Donley. Also surviving are three grandchildren Suzanne Weber, Rebecca (Kevin) Morrison, Eric Weber and three great grandchildren Joel, Josh and Sydney Morrison.
Jean Ann attended St. Francis and went on to graduate from Marywood in Grand Rapids. She then attended Michigan State University. She and her husband, Tom, owned and operated Modern Cleaners for many years. Jean Ann was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She was very involved in the community and was past Grand Regent of the Catholic Daughters of America, past president of the Daisy Chain, recipient of the Daisy of the year in 1980 and recipient of the Rotary Paul Harris award given to her for service above herself in 1997. Jean Ann also served on the Munson Auxiliary and had volunteered almost 20,000 hours at Munson Hospital. Volunteering at the hospital was one of her greatest pleasures.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 21, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Traverse City. In lieu of flowers and donations the family requests that you perform a random act of kindness in Jean Ann's memory.
