

TRAVERSE CITY — Mrs. Joanne “Joan” Clous Scott, 69, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016 at Munson Medical Center after a long illness. She was the oldest of Al and Marie Clous’ ten children, born on Feb. 25, 1946 in Traverse City.
Joan attended St. Francis High School and married her high school sweetheart, Dick Scott, on Nov. 28, 1964 at St Francis. They were married for 51 years. She worked in several Traverse City elementary school cafeterias for nearly 15 years. Joan loved camping, cooking and baking. Joan and Dick loved taking her younger brothers and sisters to their house overnight and Joan was a Big Sister for a period of time.
Joan is survived by her husband, Dick; father, Alfred; sisters, Marlene (Ed) Robinson, Nancy (Bob) Scholl, Linda (Jake) Roop, Jane (Mike) Krajnik; brothers, Robert (Sally) Clous, Richard (Ann) Clous, Don (Patty) Clous, Gary (Elizabeth) Clous, Ken Clous. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Bill (Gert) Scott; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her pet dog, Boots.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie (Yankee) Clous; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ed and Theresa Scott.
Cremation has taken place through Covell Funeral Home. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church on Feb. 25, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Dick Scott to help with funeral expenses
