John A. Jakee, age 82, of Traverse City, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Maple Valley Nursing Home. He was born July 8, 1930 in Traverse City to John and Clara Jakee. He married Stella Bachelor on November 18, 1958. He worked for Jack Pines Saw Mill and was a Service Man for the Salvation Army.
John is survived by his wife Stella; 3 children: Evelyn (David) Hammond, Donna (Greg) Irish, and Mary Morgan; 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; 3 brothers: Richard, Chucky, and Tommy Jakee.
Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by a daughter Clara; siblings: Joseph, Freddie, Billy, Claude, and MaryAnn.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April3, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City, with visitation 1 hour prior.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Traverse City.
