Ray Richard Reed

Ray Richard Reed, age 68 of Traverse City died February 28, 2012 at Munson Medical Center. Born May 5, 1943 in Interlochen, Michigan the son of William and Dorothy Reed. Ray started out with his father learning the electrical trade and went on to become a Journeyman electrician until his retirement. An avid outdoorsman, mechanic, hunter and fisherman, he was a true jack of all trades. He was known for always being eager to lend a helping hand and was loved by all for his kindness and generousity. The most important thing to him was spending time with his family and friends. Ray was married to Sharon Thayer of Traverse City for 12 years and they had three boys together, he later married Deborah Weir of Belleville for 36 years until his passing. Beloved Husband of Deborah. Loving Father of: Roy (Cindy), Jeff, Craig, Jason (Angela) and Ray (Andrea) Reed. Proud Grandfather of Chris, Cody, Tessa, Will, Gregory, Riley and Coley and one great grandchild on the way. Dear Brother of Doris, Ruth, Judy and Roger (Kathy). Preceded in death by his parents and two brother in laws. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 9, 2012 1:00 p.m. at Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City with visitation being held Thursday, March 8, 2012 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the spring at Inland Township Cemetery.
