Stella Mary Kunce

Stella was born on May 18, 1921, in Maple City, MI, the daughter of Frank and Angeline (Fleis) Zionkowski. She married Joseph Kunce on February 23, 1946, in Traverse City. They were married 61 years when he passed away in 2007.

Stella worked very hard as a homemaker, wife, mother, and bookkeeper for her husband’s fire safety business. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing golf and fishing.

Stella is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Milt) Gere and Nancy (Ken) Guyette, three grandsons, Jonathan (Grace) Gere, Joseph (Rebecca) Guyette, and Michael (Rebecca) Guyette, and two great grandchildren, J.J. Guyette and Ellie Guyette. She is also survived by a brother, sister, and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 14, 2012, at 11 a.m. from the St. Francis Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Stella’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
