

Virginia “Ginny” Violet Kellogg, age 94, of Traverse City, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions with her family at her side. She was born July 2, 1921 in Traverse City, to Frank and Martha (Aeschliman) Weathers.
Ginny married the late Kenneth Kellogg on May 25, 1946 in Traverse City. Together they raised two daughters.
Ginny worked at various local canning factories until her retirement.
She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary.
Ginny enjoyed dancing all her life. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends and participating in Eagles club activities. There was nothing Ginny enjoyed more than spending time with her family and very special friends, Hilda, Shirley and Pat.
Ginny is survived by her two daughters, Brenda (John Neff) King, of Traverse City, and Terri (Ron) Parker, of Interlochen; four grandchildren, Tabetha King, Michael King, Michelle (Nathan) Barber and Aubrey Ann (Jordan Bates) Parker; brothers, Ed Weathers and Frank (Linda) Weathers; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; son-in-law, Larry King; and siblings, Robert, Max, Frances, Barbara, Donna and Constance.
The family would like to thank the Grand Traverse Pavilions Rehab staff for their care, compassion and exceptional efforts.
A visitation will be held Monday, July 13, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. A funeral will take place Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place at Cornell Cemetery at 3 p.m.
Memorial contributions in Ginny’s name may be directed to the Father Fred Foundation.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Traverse City.
