

Warren was born on February 20, 1921 in Fife Lake Township, the son of True and Mary Jane (McCleary) Harrington. His family ran Continental Telephone Company in Cedar for years. One of 11 children, Warren started working at 12 years old. His main chore at home was making dinner for the family, then later planted trees for the Civilian Conservation Corps. He worked road construction, then 25 years cleaning the sewers for the city. Warren was a Lifetime Member of the VFW Cherryland Post 2780. Warren married Doris May Zeigler in 1941 and had three children.
Warren is survived by his wife, Doris Harrington; sons, Larry (Juanita) Harrington and James (Diane) Harrington; sister, Hilda Garvin; 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and several step-siblings. Preceding Warren in death are his daughter, Jennie Lee Harrington; father, True Harrington; mother Mary Jane Payne; step-father, Home Payne; and siblings, Inez Reynolds, Mildred Cook, Ruth Barnes, Ednie Evans, Art Harrington, Chuck Harrington, Dorothy Sims, Richard Harrington, and Helen Harrington.
Military Honors will be held graveside on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Oakwood Cemetery in Traverse City. Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post 2870 or Munson Hospice House.
