William J Stevens

William was born on January 11, 1940 in Detroit, the son of John and Dorothy (Bittner) Spielmaker. He graduated from Detroit Catholic Central in 1958 and joined the Air ForceNational Guard. William was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fly fishing. He loved playing hockey and coached the Traverse City High School Hockey Team into a state championship in the late 80s. William was an integral part of Alcoholics Anonymous Victoria Creek Group - 30+ years sober also enjoyed giving all he could to the C.A.R.E. Program.

William was a straight forward, tell-it-like-it-is kind of man and will be missed by those that survive him; special nephew, Jim (Laura) Corbett; sister, Susan McGrath; grandnephews, James and Ryder Corbett; caregiver, Dean Barnes; special friend, Donna LaVoie; and many other great friends and family members.
