

Alfred Hartman (Al) Kaste, age 78, of Lilburn passed away with his family at his side on Friday, September 22, 2012. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Betty Ann (Oglesbee) Kaste; his children, Kristen Kaste of Lilburn, Charles (Chuck) Kaste of Marietta and his wife Lisa, David Kaste of Lilburn, and Andrew Kaste of Marietta and his wife Shea; brother Lee of Port St. Lucie, Florida and his wife Barbara; sisters-in-law Bonnie (Oglesbee) Brown and Charlotte (Oglesbee) Wells, both of Atlanta; grandchildren Jonathan, Joshua, Robert, Julia, Stephen, Stanford and Havana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Al was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on May 16, 1934, son of Hartman and Isabelle (Wulff) Kaste. He graduated from Jackson High School in Jackson, Michigan. Al enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1953, where he served for 4 years as an electrician’s mate. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he attended Western Michigan University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology.
Memorial services celebrating his life and legacy of Christian love, kindness and charity will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at the Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer, 3750 Zoar Church Road, Snellville, GA, 30039 (770-979-2467). The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA, 30084 (770-491-3021). Pastor John Byerly and the Reverend Walter Sandell will officiate services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to the Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
