The angel of death has visited again and taken from our midst our beloved Elaine Whitlow Spurlock; she stepped across the threshold on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 after a battle with an extensive illness; she passed peacefully.
Elaine was born September 2, 1954 to Lula P. Whitlow in Tuskegee, Alabama. She was raised by her grandparents, the late Finch and Susanna Whitlow. Elaine graduated from South Macon Training School, Roba, Alabama and attended Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, Alabama. She was baptized and joined Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Tuskegee, Alabama at a very early age.
Elaine was a Legal Secretary, employed with Kilpatrick & Cody for many years; she later joined the law offices of Sutherland, where she received accolades for her professionalism and contribution to the firm’s success.
Elaine is survived by her husband of 25 years, Albert Spurlock, her son, Anthony Terry Arnold, Sr. (Dierdra), her mother, Lula Pearl Woods, five grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
