Gene Brian Beck

Gene was born February 26th, 1956, in Long Beach, California to Eugene and Donna Beck. He attended Auburn University on a wrestling scholarship and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Art Education. Upon graduation he taught art at Southwest DeKalb High School and coached wrestling. After a few years he decided to leave the field of teaching and go into business for himself. Gene brought a sense of enthusiasm and vision to everything he did, including volunteering with wrestling programs, neighborhood initiatives, and park boards. He also truly enjoyed his work, where his creativity and desire to learn were able to shine, both in founding GA Beck, an Inc. 500 advertising company, and then becoming a successful realtor. His free time was filled with the laughter and love of family and close friends and spending as much time in nature as he could.

Gene fought pancreatic cancer with the same positivity he faced all of life with, before passing peacefully with his loving wife, Jamie, and son, Myers, by his side. He is survived by stepsons, Alex and Christian Lockwood, brothers, Gary and Guy Beck, an extended loving family, and countless friends.

A celebration of life will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home on Saturday, September 23rd at 1:00 pm. 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 30084.

In lieu of flowers, Gene and his family would be honored by any donations made to the Georgia Conservancy.
