

Helen Maye Boothe, 77, passed peacefully from this life on August 20, 2017 at her home in Dawsonville, GA. She was born May 1, 1940 in Cabin Creek, W.Va., to John and Irene Houck, and was married to her high school sweetheart, Dallas Boothe, for 58 wonderful years. Before moving to Dawsonville in 2016, Helen, Dallas, and their family lived in West Virginia, Florida, Mississippi, Kentucky, Ohio, New York and Maryland. Helen was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who died after a six-month battle with cancer. Her courageous fight with the disease was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her.
Helen was preceded in death by her two-year-old son, Jamie, both of her parents; her brother Ronald Houck, and her sister Mary Guskey. In addition to her husband, she is survived by son Dallas Boothe, II and his wife Cheryl of Mobile, AL; son John Boothe, and his wife Stephanie Allain of Loganville, GA; her daughter Karen Reed and her husband Bo of Woodstock, GA, five grandsons, James, Paul and Jared Staples and Zachary and Ethan Boothe, her sister Sondra Hill of Charleston, WV, as well as a multitude of extended family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 30084, where funeral service will be held on Friday, August 25th at 1 p.m.
Burial will immediately follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Tucker, GA.
