

John S. Krol, 96, of Atlanta, GA passed away peacefully at home on May 29, 2025. He was born in Jersey City, NJ and was a proud alumnus of MIT, class of 1950, with a Bachelor of Science, in Chemical Engineering. After graduating he went to work at Armour and Company that started Dial Soap products in North Bergen, NJ. He later became National Manager of Facilities for the distribution of metallurgical grade anhydrous ammonia where he worked in cooperation with the real estate legal and purchasing departments of the corporation United States Steel who took over Armour and Company. Also was in contact with members of the Secretaries of State and Public Safety department members to obtain operational and licensing. During his career with U.S. Steel he acted as chairman of many Compressed Gas Association Committees including the Compressed Gas Association Tank Truck Committee and National Tank Car Committee. Also chairman of the American National Standards Institute Committee K61.1 for the transportation and distribution of anhydrous ammonia that was adopted by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration as a national standard. After marrying his wife Rosalie in 1962 he was transferred from New Jersey to the Atlanta office of U.S. Steel.
He was surrounded by his loving family, his wife Rosalie Interdonato Krol, daughters Ellen Frances Krol, Beverley Krol McNally. Also, “son” Daniel McNally, and grandson Brendan James McNally, granddaughter Kelley Marie Holtzman and her husband David Holtzman. Also, he was nephew of the late Sally Grubbs, Dame of St. Gregory. He was also survived by his sister-in-law, Viriginia Interdonato, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Also, want to thank Dr. Elliott Royston for his medical and loving care and friendship.
