Joseph Lynn Dean

Joe was born in Moultrie , GA. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite McKay Dean; parents Dr. Clay Lehman Dean and Fay Hutchinson Dean, Moultrie , GA ; and brother Clay H. (Vickie) Dean.

Joe served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps from 1941 – 1945.

He was the Director of the DeKalb County Data Processing Department from 1950 until his retirement in 1991.

Joe is survived by his sister, Dorothy (John) Zuck; nieces Fay Missildine, Patricia (Buzz) Durham and Betsy (Steve) Wisehart; nephew Navy CAPT. Joseph Clay Dean (D’Arcy); several great nieces and nephews; and great, great nieces and nephews.

Joe adopted two mixed breed dogs, Frosty and Lamb Chop, whom he loved and were at his side when he passed.

Floral Hill Funeral Home, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway , Tucker, GA will be handling the arrangements.

Visitation with family will be at 10:00 a.m. on January 21, 2012. A military funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m with a reception following.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Joseph Lynn Dean Memorial Fund, United Community Bank, Lawrenceville , GA.
