Joseph Earl Duke Jr.

He was born in Birmingham, AL the son of the late Joseph E. and Effie Holland Duke.

He received his BA degree in accounting from Birmingham Southern University where he was a member of Lamda Chi Alpha.

Mr. Duke retired after 30 yrs. of service from Frigidaire Inc. a division of GM. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and a member of the 137th Ordinance Division Association.

He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Duke as well as his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 61 yrs., Margaret Dunn Duke of Stone Mountain; his daughter, Debbie Duke Lee of Stone Mountain; his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Alva Duke of Franklin, TN; his daughter-in-law, Debi Coile Duke of Crawford, GA;his sister, Lola Frawley of Birmingham, AL; his grandchildren, Erin Lee, Lauren Espinosa and her husband Brandon, Ryan Hester and her husband Jordan, Jamie Stiener and her husband Tony, Inga Cernie Duke, and Joseph Duke; his great grandchildren, Eli Hester, Olive Hester, and Rowen Espinosa.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Floral Hills Funeral Home with Tim Dunn officiating. Inurnment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
