Ransom "Poppy" Coleman, Jr. went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 9th after a gradual decline in health. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family and friends during the last days of life. Ransom was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend who always enjoyed sharing the laughter and happiness that evolved within family and friendship.
Ransom was born to Rosemary "Vikki" Brown and Ransom Coleman, Sr. in Freeport, New York. Ransom grew up in Westbury, New York with his mom, Vikki and step-father Clinton Brown. He graduated from Westbury High School in 1988. He received his Associates Degree from Nassau Community College (Long Island, NY) and attended Morehouse College (Atlanta, GA). He was a well-loved retail salesman at Nordstrom's, Neiman's, and Saks Fifth Avenue. He was owner of AllStar Securities.
Ransom is survived by his wife, Felicia W. Coleman; son, Brandon Coleman; daughter, Akilah Waldon; mother, Vikki Brown (Norcross, GA); father, Ransom Coleman, Sr. (Brooklyn, NY); step-father, Clinton Brown, Sr.; brothers, Darrell Arrington (Hempstead,NY), Clinton Brown, Jr. (Columbus, OH), Darren Brown, (Roseville, CA); sisters, Victoria Brown (Marietta, GA), Fern Burt (Roosevelt, NY), Barbara Hammonds (Westbury, NY), Melanie Hammett (West Hempstead, NY); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
