

1945- 2024
Ronald Tobey Weber, a mechanical engineer and devoted family man, died peacefully at home in Tucker, GA on 10/10/24 at the age of 79 years after a lengthy battle with cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. Ronald is survived by his wife, Concetta, his daughter Rhonda (with husband Felix) and son Carl (with wife Sandra) and 5 grandchildren (Felix Delmolino III, Alex Ronald Delmolino, Michael Delmolino, Dylan Weber and Casey Weber).
Ronald was born in Bloomsburg, PA in 1945,the son of Carl and Aileen Weber. He was the middle son of 3 boys: oldest brother Jack (deceased) and youngest brother Gary all of which became engineers. His family moved several times due to his father’s employment and finally settled in upstate New York in the Watkins Glen Area.
In 1968, he married Concetta Zazzara of Ithaca, NY. They had a daughter, Rhonda Weber (Delmolino) in 1969 and son Carl Weber in 1979.
He attended Corning Community College on a full scholarship for math and science, after which he was hired by General Electric Company in Schenectady, NY in 1964. He worked at the factory as an welder, etc for 12 years while he attended night school at Union College to earn his Bachelor’s & Master’s Degrees in Mechanical Engineering.
After graduation he accepted a position in Atlanta, GA in 1977. Ronald was the Lead Instructor for General Electric Company Southeast Region of the US. His mechanical design expertise taught the trainees how to operate and maintain the steam powered generation turbines all throughout the Company. For the last 10 years of his career at GE, he moved to the mechanical consultations/ audits of power plants throughout the United States and once overseas to Egypt which required extensive travel. In 2003, he retired after 39.5 years of service.
Ronald was a lifelong tinkerer - if it was broken he loved to fix it. His hobbies included: tennis, sailing, woodworking, bicycling, sudoku math puzzles, rebuilding clocks, and helping neighbors (lawnmowers, cars, bicycles, home improvements) & children with bicycle repairs..He renovated a 1966 MGB and a sailboat with his family. He was always there when needed, and he will be deeply missed by all.
A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, October 26th at 11am at Floral Hills Funeral Home located at 3150 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, GA 30084.
