He was survived by his wife of 59 years Ramona “Monchi” ; Children: Cathy Vasquez, Cecilia Grijalva (Raymond +), Albert Borboa (Sally) and Gracie Canez ; 12 grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren; Siblings: Terry Vargas (Javier), Eddie Borboa, Anita Ortiz; along with many more family and friends.
To many Albert was known as Boa but to us his family he was Shampa.
He was a man of many words and knew how to carry a conversation but his sense of humor was his best asset. Boa had this way of cheering you up even when you didn’t realize you needed cheering up. He was full of jokes, had a new one everyday all because he created them on his own. Could of been a comedian.
He was a very smart and wise man. You could talk to him about anything and he would be there to listen and give you advice.
He was a hard working man before retiring. He was a welder and steel worker for 38 years. One of his big accomplishments was his years in the service as a United States Marine for 24 years.
His service may have only lasted 24 years but he was a Marine till the end. Anytime you saw Boa he was decked out in Marine gear. Hat, shirt and the ringer on his cell phone.
Once Boa retired that’s when he really started living the best part of his life. Him and his wife Monchi would enjoy spending their days with their great grandchildren. His family was his pride and joy. Any chance he got he would brag to anyone about our accomplishments in life. He adored his wife, loved his children, proud of his grandchildren but his great grandchildren were the light of his life. The way he describe his family was “Muy Bomb.” Even if you weren’t one of his own he had this way of making you feel so loved and special as though you were.
Boa had the biggest heart, the warmest hugs, a laugh that was so contagious and the strength of a Marine!
He will be so deeply missed by so many but he will forever been in our hearts and we will carry on his memories for a lifetime. We love you! OORAH!
