

Anne Tennant Crile Bailey entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at the age of 84. Anne was born December 21, 1925 in Roswell, New Mexico to parents, Lucile and Herman Crile. She graduated from San Bernardino HS, CA in 1941 and went on to attend Sullins College in Bristol VA and the University of Oklahoma 1942-1946. She married Robert Carter Bailey May 7, 1946 in Norman, OK after he had been overseas for three years serving in the Military. The couple lived in Phoenix, AZ from 1947-1967 and started their family there. Daughter, Barbara was born June 24, 1949 and son, Robert Jr. was born September 26, 1951. Robert Sr. passed away in February of 1968. Anne then spent time in Ohio, Illinois and Michigan 1967-1972. She married Guy Vanderhort Bailey in 1970 and the couple returned to Arizona 1973 where they remained. Guy passed away in May of 1993. Anne was an incredibly loving and outgoing woman. She loved being a schoolteacher and was involved in many activities including Brownies and Girl Scouts. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and the Tucson Assistance League. She enjoyed playing bridge with friends and her extensive travels took her many places around the world. She had a love of dogs and was skilled in many crafts but her main love in life was her family who she put before anything else. Her loving spirit created wonderful family memories that will last a lifetime. Everyone who met her was a better person for having known her. Words cannot express how much she will be missed. Anne is survived by daughter, Barbara Anne Bailey-McFarlin and husband, Bill McFarlin of Marietta, GA; son, Robert Carter Bailey of Flagstaff, AZ; stepson, Guy Bailey and wife, Nanette Bailey of Grand Rapids, Michigan; granddaughter, Lisa Bailey-Menter and husband, Jason Menter of Maricopa, AZ; granddaughter, Jessica Bailey-Meyer and husband, Joe Meyer of Houston, TX; grandson, Joe Collins of Athens, GA; granddaughter, Sara Bailey and husband, Josh Vidro of Chicago, IL; granddaughter, Marissa Bailey-Murdock and husband, Kris Murdock of Grand Rapids, MI and great-granddaughter, Haylee Menter of Maricopa, AZ. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL located at 5801 E. Grant Road in Tucson. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society .
