Anne Zaretsky was 97 years young. You might think that’s a really long time to live, it was --but of course not nearly enough for the family and friends that loved her so. She was born in the Bronx, New York on February 16, 1928, to Abraham and Gussie Weissman. She had one older sister, Betty. Anne married Sam Zaretsky in 1955 and had 2 girls, Carol Cristiani and Lisa Barrow, 4 grandchildren, Chantelle Turner, Santino Cristiani, Madison Barrow and Delaney Barrow and a great grandchild Kiara Turner.
Anne was extremely patient and talented and oh so generous with her time. She loved being creative. From sewing (a kimono out of a shower curtain) to school projects (sugar cube castle replica), and throwing elaborate cocktail parties (penguins intricately orchestrated from hard boiled eggs, black olive arms and feet, and carrot face). All of which were award winning.
She was a health nut and so knowledgeable about nutrition before mainstream even had a clue and was the original conservationist.
As much as she needed to conserve, save and re-use and repurpose, she was the most giving and generous with her time and her love.
Known and loved by many, she will be sorely missed.
