He is survived by his devoted wife Brenda Urbina, his children, Antonio (Tony III) Georgian, Adrian, Violet, and Aliana, stepchildren, Jesus, Mark, and Alyssa, beloved mother Socorro, siblings, Jaime Urbina (Alexandra), Fred Urbina (Shannon), Rachel Ward (Chris), and Adam Urbina (Maria); step-children from his first marriage to Joyce (deceased), Jaycie (Matthew), Jarrett, and Joseph; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, foster children, friends and loving guard dogs, Sammy, Lola, and San Antonio. He was preceded in death by his father Antonio Urbina and his first wife, Joyce.
Tony was born in Kearney, Arizona and grew up in Tucson, Arizona. He spent his formative years growing up in South Tucson and graduated from Pueblo High School.
Tony was a humble and warm person who liked to joke around and barbeque with friends and family. He did not go quietly into the night but died while doing what he like to do best, hanging out with his family on Easter Day. He lived a full life in the 50 calendar years we had with him because he enjoyed life and everything that comes with it. The way he died is just like he lived, he had his own rules, he made his own way, and he was determined. His most proud achievement was loving and caring for his family and raising his kids.
Tony was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important — the simplicity of living a life with those you love and being a good man. Although he had some wild younger days, he traded that in to be with family and friends. He also knew that a life lived with loved ones was more important than material possessions.
Tony graduated from the Corrections academy in Tucson Arizona and was a longtime employee of his Tribe, the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. He worked for the Casino, for the Pascua Yaqui Detention Services, and most recently, for the Pascua Yaqui Tribal Court.
Tony was a dedicated and loving husband, an Oakland Raiders fan, enjoyed his mom’s home cooking, and devoted his life to all of us, including his many foster children. In short, he would give you the shirt off his back. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of life memorial is being planned for a later date. A graveside service and internment, (limited to 10 because of the COVID-19 virus) will occur at 11:30am at South Lawn Mortuary, 5401 S Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706.
