Argentina Martinez Camacho

Argentina Martinez Camacho passed away peacefully in Tucson, Arizona at the age of 83. Preceded in passing by her late beloved husband Richard Camacho; son Robert Olvera; daughter Alice Olvera; parents Manuel Sr. and Petra Martinez; brothers Eusebio Barrientes, Juan Martinez Sr., Domingo Martinez, and Manuel Martinez Jr.

Argentina is survived by her sisters Manuelita Goetterman, and Lucia Vela; daughters Flora Gonzales (Fred), Patricia Vasquez (Eddie), Christina Rocha (Reyes), Cecilia Olvera, Virginia Camacho; sons Rene Olvera (Elsa), Raymond Camacho. After Alice's passing, Argentina was honored to have raised grandchildren Monique Coh, Michelle Beltran, David Carrillo, and Honey Carrillo, who survive their grandmother alongside 68 more devoted grandchildren and great-grandchildren. At the time of her passing, Argentina was blessed to have welcomed the fifth generation of her family, with two great-great-grandchildren.

Argentina loved nothing more than to spend time with her family, nurturing each generation with gentle patience and strong faith. Her family, her children, were her number one priority.

She is fondly remembered for her skill in cooking, making delicious tortillas from scratch, as the base to many incredible meals. She loved the holidays, decorating meticulously and enjoying the cozy warmth of the season. Argentina nurtured her garden with the same care and patience she tended to her family with, and is remembered to often be out in the yard, pruning her roses, weeding, and watching it all bloom.

Argentina was a faithful member of Life in Christ church, where she attended services for many years. In past years, Argentina volunteered her time with the Pueblo Center, taking food to elders in the community. She was active in giving service to the community, and demonstrated those values of giving and charity on to her children and grandchildren.

There is much that can be said of Argentina, more than will fit here on this page. Her love and spirit will be remembered and cherished in the hearts of her family, friends, and community.

A visitation for Argentina will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Funeraria del Angel South Lawn, 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.Graveside committal and burial will immediately follow, at 12:30 PM at South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706.
