Arlene Sullivan went to the loving arms of Jesus at the age of 89, surrounded by family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend—always there when we needed her most, offering unwavering support, wisdom, and love in abundance.
Arlene was born in September 1935 to Ethel and Leroy Kolb. At the age of 15, her family moved to Tucson, Arizona, where she attended Tucson High School and graduated in 1953.
In 1955, Arlene married the love of her life, Jim. Together they raised three children: Randy, David, and Laurel. Arlene dedicated her life to creating a warm, nurturing home for her husband and children. After her youngest child, Laurel, entered high school, Arlene returned to school, taking classes at Pima College before rejoining the workforce. She worked in billing at Old Pueblo Anesthesia, where she was known for her diligence and kindness.
Arlene’s greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends. Her home was always open and welcoming, especially during the holidays, often serving as a gathering place for those who had nowhere else to go. Her nurturing spirit extended to all living things—she rescued stray birds and animals and lovingly tended to her beautiful flower garden.
A woman of grace and beauty, Arlene lived a life deeply rooted in faith and devoted to Christ. She found joy in prayer, strength in scripture, and peace in the promise of eternal life. She shared her faith through kindness, compassion, and an unwavering trust in God’s plan.
Arlene lived a life marked by steadfast faith and profound wisdom and had a joyful laugh that brightened every room. She is now at peace in the arms of our Savior, and we rejoice in the hope of the resurrection.
Arlene is survived by her son Randy (Lyn); daughter Laurel (Mike); daughter-in-law Juliann; grandchildren Melinda (Levi), Brandon (Daniella), Sydni (Josh), and Casandra; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jim, her son David, and grandsons Tyler and Justin.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
