Audrey Mae Kelly

Audrey Mae Bertha Pearsall Kelly passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014. She was residing at the TruVal Assisted Living at 4445 N. Pontatoc, Tucson, AZ 85712. She had just had her 90th birthday a couple of months before on July 12th. She had Alzheimer's for about he last 6 -7 years.

She was born in North Platte, Nebraska on July 12, 1924 to Bernadine and William Pearsall. She had 2 brothers, Howard Pearsall and Charles Pearsall. They have both passed away before her. While she was still young they moved to Tucson when she was an early teen. She graduated from Tucson High School in 1942. She met and fell in love with Arthur Kelly, Jr. At Ryan Field in 1943 and they were married in Hobbs, New Mexico on December 23, 1944. They had 2 children, one is still living, Deborah Mae Kelly and the 1st one Nancy Colleen Kelly passed away in 1965 after being in a car accident. She and Arthur divorced in 1979 and she remained in Tucson for the rest of her life.

Audrey had a full life and was able to travel to many wonderful places like Fiji, Hawaii, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Greece, Ireland and many places in our own country. She was active in the LDS Church where she served faithfully from the age of 17. She was self taught in art and then started taking every style of art class she could find and consequently used almost all mediums, oil, acrylic, water color, pastel, pen, etc. She did landscapes, animals, portraits, flowers, etc. She also taught at the Pima County Parks and Recreation for 14 years. Audrey was on various Art Leagues in the Tucson area and also juried other artists.

Audrey also loved to decorate her home, she was a beautiful seamstress, made drapes, furniture slip covers, and even made her daughter's wedding dress with appliqued lace and pearls. She was also a gourmet cook and often created new recipes with her husband, Art Kelly.

Audrey requested to be cremated and there will be a Memorial Service for her at the Unity Church located at 3617 N. Camino Blanco, Tucson, AZ 85718-7239, phone: 520. 577.3300 at 2:00 on Saturday the 27th of September. Unity if off River Road between Swan and Craycroft. Light refreshments will be served and a presentation of her art and life will be shown.
